Drone Free Areas
There are quite a number of people caught by the authorities for flying drones inside restricted areas. This will not only be fined, but endangers others.
In these areas, flying in general is not allowed. This include kites and balloons. If caught will face a heavy fine (approximately 10,000-50,000 EUR).
Since most of the articles are written in Mandarin, here are a few tips on how to avoid accidentally violating the law.
1) If you are in a major city, chances are you might not be able to take out your drone. Most part of the northern Taiwan are restricted; some parts in central and southern Taiwan as well.
2) Drone free areas also include military zones, so check before you launch it. If caught may face time in prison.
3) If you are on an offshore island, then sorry you can not operate on these islands.
4) Popular destinations include the Taipei 101 and National Palace Museum and some areas in Hualien and Taitung are also in the no fly zone. Kenting National Park is also a drone free area.
