I know it doesn't look or sound so appetizing, but if you are a coriander lover then you do not want to miss this. I couldn't resist the temptation, so I took a bite out of it before I took this shot.
It is a mixture of blood of pig or poultry and sticky rice steamed. Cut into cubes or cuboid then skewered and dipped in sauce. Finally, it is covered with peanut sugar and pinch of coriander.
It is also served in hot pots. In this case it would come sauce-less and coat-less. We also deep-fried it and serve it with pepper and salt. The possibilities are endless. I love it so much that it is the go-to food whenever I'm ordering in.
A similar food of the West may be the black pudding. The pig blood cake is the Taiwanese version of a moist black pudding with coats of peanut sugar and coriander.
